Iconic Space. Modern Purpose.

Former home of Ohio State basketball for 42 seasons, St. John Arena is one of the university’s most storied venues. The Buckeyes captured the 1960 national championship here and claimed five consecutive Big Ten titles from 1960 to 1964. While the men’s and women’s basketball programs moved to the Jerome Schottenstein Center in 1998, St. John remains an iconic part of the Ohio State athletics tradition.

Located just north of Ohio Stadium and adjacent to French Field House, the arena now serves as a versatile multi-purpose facility and training space. The main floor features expansive strength and conditioning areas equipped with modern training equipment.

Today, St. John Arena is perhaps best known for hosting Skull Session, a beloved Ohio State game day tradition where fans gather before home football games to watch the The Ohio State University Marching Band rehearse one final time before marching to the stadium.
